These are challenges of computational modelling, segmentation and computer-aided diagnostic for cardiovascular problems. The Cardiac Atlas Project has been actively working with several research groups to create exciting research activities to solve a specific problem with common data set. As such, new development of computational algorithms can be developed, tested and compared using the same data set.
More cardiac challenges are hosted by annual STACOM challenges: http://stacom.cardiacatlas.org.
Important
Each challenge has unique requirements, process, criteria and terms of agreement to join. Please read carefully each challenge descriptions. If you are interested, then do not hesitate to contact the challenge organisers.
LV Segmentation Challenge
One major challenge for developing a 4D segmentation algorithm is the lack of available large set of ground truth that are defined for the whole cardiac frames and slices. Initiated from the 2011 LV Segmentation Challenge that was held for...
Landmark Detection Challenge
An accurate identification of anatomical cardiac features allows more robust and accurate functional and structural analysis of the heart. Hence, anatomical landmark points are obviously essential for an automated cardiac MRI segmentation method. In...
LV Statistical Shape Modelling Challenge
In order to maintain normal cardiac physiology, the heart constantly changes its shape and function (remodelling ) due to myocardial injury, disease or excessive physical activities. Myocardial infarction does affected the shape of the heart...
Motion Correction Perfusion Challenge
Dynamic contrast MR myocardial perfusion imaging has evolved into an accurate technique for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. T1-weighted images are rapidly acquired every heartbeat to track the uptake and washout of a contrast agent...
Ventricular Infarct Segmentation
A benchmarking platform for myocardial infarct segmentation algorithms of the left ventricle. The image database consists of 30 multi-center, multi-vendor, and multi-resolution datasets.
Results are awaiting publication in a leading journal.

Left Atrium Fibrosis and Scar Segmentation Challenge
Six institutions from around the world participated at the ISBI 2012 challenge of segmenting 60 multi-center and multi-vendor datasets of left atrial DE-MRI. The results have been published in:
R Karim, et al., "Evaluation of current algorithms for...
Left Atrium Segmentation Challenge
This benchmark provides data, ground-truth and code for quantitative evaluation of left atrial segmentation algorithms. The left atrium is clinically important for the management of atrial fibrillation in patients. MRI and CT are commonly used for...
Motion Tracking Challenge
This is the first Cardiac Motion Analysis Challenge that was held at the 2011 MICCAI workshop entitled "Statistical Atlases and Computational Models of the Heart: Imaging and Modelling Challenges" (STACOM'11). The objective of this challenge is to evaluate...
